The Rise of Plastic Bottles
Since the dawn of the 1970s, plastic bottles have surged in popularity, gradually replacing their glass counterparts, which have become increasingly rare in today's market. The allure of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles lies in their affordability, rapid production, and feather-light weight. However, this convenience comes at a significant cost to our environment.
The Plastic Bottles Dilemma
Every second, a staggering 16,000 plastic bottles are sold around the globe. Alarmingly, less than 50% of these bottles are collected for recycling, and a mere 7% are transformed into new PET bottles. The overwhelming majority find their way to landfills or pollute our natural surroundings, where they can take centuries to decompose. This creates a pressing challenge for our ecosystem and highlights the urgent need for innovative solutions.
Innovative Solutions on the Horizon
Amidst this crisis, new developments and techniques are emerging, showcasing exciting applications for recycled materials. As we continue to discover novel uses for recycled plastics, there’s hope for a more sustainable future.
Sevpacks: Pioneering Sustainable Practices
At Sevpacks, we are committed to making a difference by utilizing recycled materials in our products. We see tremendous potential in recycled PET, particularly in the creation of foam cores for sandwich panels. By embracing these sustainable practices, we aim to contribute to a circular economy and reduce the environmental impact of plastic waste.
This is the way they accomplish it.:
